And speaking of coconut oil...

...I came across this, which makes me want to try it even more!

That takes me back about 4 years. I seem to recall I lost some weight when I first started taking it, but not much after. Still, there's something about it all that I believe in...wouldn't mind taking it up again myself. I just don't know if you can find this shit on PEI!

Forget the book (you can read all about coconut oil on da Innernetz) and invest in the actual oil instead. I wouldn't call it a taste sensation (you'd think it would taste exactly like coconut!), but I would just mix it in my tea or food.

Vurk it - especially since I can't right now! :)

Oh, I wasn't planning on getting the book, it's just reading the write up made me want to try it even more! I totally forgot you had tried it... but yeah, that's how I assumed you'd use it, in place of regular oil in cooking and all. I never considered taking it on its own.

Truthfully, I'm not expecting any miracles. Just knowing it probably has less chance of causing serious health problems is enough for me, nevermind whether it cures any; if it has any positive effects as well, that'll just be a brucey-bonus (English slang that must sound so funny to you given our own Bruceterbob)! :D

I suppose you could cook with it - I seem to recall reading it could be used for that - of course, I almost never cook anything that involves oil, so using it for that wouldn't pop up on my radar anyway. I do remember reading more about actually taking it, which is another reason I did...it actually gives a really nice flavour to tea, I found! I should get back on it myself. Funny how there's still so much backlash - "oh, it's a saturated fat; you're not supposed to have it". Well, at least it's natural! I don't know what unsaturated is composed of, but I'd rather put the real thing in my body than some sort of chemically-treated what-not!

I've heard (seen) you use "brucey-bonus" before...it does sound funny, but no more so than a lot of the Britslang you've picked up, ya un-Yank! ;) (Strangely enough, not only am I not saying "eh" constantly after 2 years or stressing my "ow" sounds more, but there don't seem to be too many cool Canadian slang words for me to likewise pick up! Rip-off... LOL)
